Planning a wedding in Vancouver means you’ve got options you won’t find anywhere else.

We’re talking about venues where the Fraser River runs alongside your reception, where century-old buildings bring character you can’t fake, and where mountain views show up in every photo without you having to pay for them. Some couples want the full-service treatment where everything’s handled. Others prefer to rent a space and bring in their own people. Both work here.

What you’ll find as you read through are the spots that actually exist in our community, the ones we can vouch for because they’ve been hosting celebrations for years. We’ve organized them by what matters most: location, style, budget, and how much work you want to do yourself. No fluff, just the real venues that’ll make your day work.

Established in 1926 as one of the Fraser Valley’s first golf courses, the property once belonged to the McIver Family and features rolling hills, majestic maple and cedar trees, and a genuinely peaceful setting. The elevation changes, and mature trees provide countless photo opportunities, whilst the clubhouse accommodates up to 200 guests for both ceremonies and receptions. The course works brilliantly for birthday parties, anniversaries, reunions, and fundraisers, too; their courteous staff makes sure you have a relaxed time on the grounds. This venue showcases the Pacific Northwest beauty that makes our corner of the Fraser Valley distinctive.

Creative Outdoor Options

Not every couple needs a full venue rental. Sometimes you just need a beautiful spot for the ceremony, then head somewhere else for the reception.

Memorial Peace Park sits right in the heart of town and gives you a green space for ceremonies without the rental fees of a private venue. Jim Hadgkiss Park overlooks the Fraser River and offers the natural Vancouver backdrop people love. Both options let you book a simple ceremony space and then celebrate at a restaurant or community hall afterward. You’ll need to arrange your own chairs, officiant, and setup, but that flexibility means you control the budget.

  • Public park ceremonies – Free or low-cost ceremony locations with Fraser River and mountain views
  • Flexibility for receptions – Have your ceremony here, then head to any restaurant or hall for dinner
  • Natural Vancouver setting – Riverside locations that showcase our community’s landscape

Questions Often Asked

How Far in Advance Should You Book a Wedding Venue in Vancouver?

Book 12 to 18 months ahead for popular dates like summer Saturdays. Community halls and weekday bookings give you more flexibility; you can often find availability with 6 to 9 months notice. Off-season dates (November through March) sometimes open up with just a few months’ lead time.

What Venues in Vancouver Let You Bring Your Own Caterer?

Most community halls let you bring whoever you want. Eagles Hall, Fraserview Village Hall, Ruskin Community Hall, and South Bonson Community Centre all allow outside caterers. Golf courses and full-service venues typically require you to use their in-house catering. Always ask about kitchen access and any restrictions before you book.

Can You Serve Alcohol at Community Hall Weddings in Vancouver?

Yes, but you’ll need a special occasion licence from the province and event insurance. Most halls require both before they’ll let you serve alcohol. The application takes a few weeks, so don’t leave it until the last minute. Some venues, like Open Door Church, allow bars as long as you’ve got the proper permits and licensed staff.

What’s the Best Season for Outdoor Weddings in Vancouver?

Late spring through early autumn (May to September) gives you the most reliable weather. Shangrila Flower Farms only operates May 15 to October 10 for this reason. If you’re set on an outdoor ceremony, have a backup plan for rain. Some venues like Whonnock Lake Centre offer both indoor and outdoor options so you’re covered either way.
